Yahoo Japan to roll out TaoTao cryptocurrency exchange in late May

The TaoTao virtual currency exchange (formerly BitARG), a subsidiary of the Yahoo Group in Japan, announced that it will begin to provide cryptocurrency trading services on May 30.

The first information about Taotao appeared in March 2018, when the Yahoo! Japan expressed its plans to acquire shares of the exchange. The cost of 40% stake was $19 million. Then, Taotao received permission from the licensed Japanese Financial Services Agency (FSA) and started preparations for the launch, At the stock exchange, users can trade two digital assets and buy Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Ripple on credit.

The company also manages CoinDesk Japan a resource broadcasting virtual currency news and blockchain technology.

According to the announcement in the section “Trading with virtual currency” published by the TaoTao exchange spot trading of BTC-JPY and ETH-JPY as well as margin trading in currency pairs with BTC, ETH, XRP, LTC, BCH and JPY will be opened starting from May 30,

Although everyone can register an account on the Taotao exchange, the platform’s website is available in Japanese without any additional localization. As a result, it is quite possible that the exchange will provide services only to Japanese citizens.
