The United Nations Office for Project services has announced a partnership agreement with IOTA aimed at the integration of IOTA Ledger accounting system into its runtime processes.
According to the reports, the organization believes that this technology will boost the effectiveness of the management and real-time supervision of the UNO documents, supply chains, and payments, which are available both to the UNOPS and its partners.
“We share a vision where machines, devices, sensors and people connect and communicate to each other - it's the world of 'Industry 4.0.' Harnessing technology that allows for these processes to work simultaneously, without the need for intermediaries, will help expedite our mission as an organization,” said Yoshiyuki Yamamoto, UNOPS Special Advisor on Blockchain Technology.
Besides, IOTA can run in alternative communication networks, which will provide a good advantage for the regions where high-speed internet connection is unstable. As commented Yamamoto, their organization cooperates with the foundation willing to determine the most effective technologies that would help to solve UNO targets and problems.
At the same time, he added that blockchain technology looks very promising and it is vital to use it in the field.
