The net profit of the Italian banking group Unicredit in 2021 amounted to 1.54 billion euros against a loss of 2.785 billion a year earlier, according to the company's financial statements.
Operating profit rose by 11.2% to 8.158 billion euros. The group's net interest income was 9.06 billion euros, 4% lower than in the previous year. Revenue last year increased by 4.8% to 17.954 billion euros.
According to the results of the fourth quarter, the group increased its net loss by 22.1% in annual terms, to 1.44 billion euros. Operating profit rose by 10.3% to 1.963 billion euros. Net quarterly interest income rose by 6.9% to 2.406 billion euros. Revenue for these three months increased by 4.7% to 4.436 billion euros.
The banking group Unicredit operates in 18 countries. Since 1989, Unicredit Bank, owned by the group, has been operating in Russia. It is the largest Russian bank with foreign participation.
The net profit of Korean LG Electronics, one of the world's leading manufacturers of electronics and household appliances, in the past year decreased by 31% compared to 2020, amounting to 1.415 trillion won (approximately $ 1.2 billion), follows from the company's financial statements.
