Survey: Chinese college students have invested in crypto

Posted 15 October, 2019

A new survey shows that 8% of Chinese college students own some form of cryptocurrency and more than a quarter would prefer to work in the industry of blockchain after graduation. About a quarter of them would like to work as blockchain specialists after completing the training. This trend suggests that not all asset holders want to connect their lives with development on a distributed registry.

During the survey, nearly a quarter of respondents said that they did not know anything about the blockchain and its use. About 9% of students talked about the desire to invest cryptocurrencies, but only half of them are aware of their use and differences from fiat funds. More than 60% of respondents said that they support the development of modern technologies, but so far prefer ordinary money.

It was also possible to determine that students are almost not interested in publications in the press about blockchain and bitcoin. Approximately 40% of respondents prefer to independently search for information of interest to them, rather than subscribe to profile public posts or newsletters of publications. 26.7% of Chinese students surveyed said they would choose to work in the crypto industry. Another 5% intend to start exploring the industry in the near future.
