Tesla CEO Elon Musk changed his Twitter profile photo to an NFT collage from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection. The image turned out to be stock, it was assembled from pictures that were sold at Sotheby's for $ 24.3 million.

After Musk changed his profile photo, the price of the ApeCoin token rose by 10% to $17.46. Then the altcoin rate rolled back to the current value ​​of about $15.75, according to CoinGecko. Over the past day, the asset has risen in price by 3%.

Dogecoin gained 33% last week after Musk closed a deal to buy Twitter for $44 billion, or $54.20 for the company's security.

The ApeCoin token was launched by BAYC creator Yuga Labs in March. Altcoin can be obtained for free by NFT holders from the collection.
