Oliver Harris, head of the London-based financial division of JPMorgan Chase & Co, will be in charge for the cryptocurrency strategy of the bank as well as chair the Quorum project aimed at company's own block-chain platform.
Such decision of JPMorgan attracts attention, especially given that earlier its head Jammy Dimon criticised bitcoin many times. However, he stated later that was ready to deal with cryptos if the corresponding regulation is provided.
However, the company is yet to comment on details of the crypto strategy, though Oliver Harris is believed to be responsible for development and promotion of company's own crypto products, for example for digital asset storing, as the news report reads.
Oliver Harris has been involved in In Residence project for the last two years. Specifically, the project covers signing of the agreements with promising financial technology startups.
Earlier, the co-president of JPMorgan Daniel Pinto stated in the interview to mass media that the company considers studying of the digital coin market, but they remained skeptical about it.
