Gold Exchange closes in Tbilisi due to coronavirus outbreak

In Tbilisi, the largest "gold exchange" was closed due to an increase in the number of cases of coronavirus infection among jewelry sellers, local employee Nona Akubardia told RIA Novosti.

“The exchange was closed for a week. The virus spread among employees, despite all precautions. Some switched to online sales,” she explained.

She said that all sellers are tested once a week.

In Georgia, the number of detected cases of COVID-19 infection has increased significantly over the past week. According to the Georgian Ministry of Health, over the past 24 hours, this figure has increased by 7947. Over the past 24 hours, 31 people have died from COVID-19 in Georgia, 5550 people have recovered in a day.
