Gemini rolls out new custody service

The cryptocurrency trading platform Gemini run by well-known the Winklevoss twins has announced the launch of the custody service.

According to the report, Gemini Custody will enable users trade assets that are kept offline via prompt loans. The new service is run by the regulated Gemini Trust Company. It features multi-signature white address lists and option of additional accounts with a different access level.

Notably, Gemini Custody will be open for auditors.

The service supports 18 cryptocurrencies, including the major coins like Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, Zcash and ERC-20.

At the same time, the exchange platform deals only with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash and Zcash as well as Gemini Dollar.

As the company spokesperson stated, the announced custody solution is the only service that can cope with challenges set by organizations without losing protection level or support.

For reference, similar custody services are also offered by such giants as Coinbase, BitGo and Fidelity Digital Assets.
