Conduent Transportation modernizes the payment system for public transport tickets in the metropolis of Rennes

Conduent Transportation, a Conduent Incorporated company, announced on April 14 the successful implementation and deployment of a contactless EMV (Europay, Mastercard, and Visa) payment system on the STAR public transport network in the metropolitan area. of Rennes Métropole. Around 353,000 users per day use the STAR network managed by Keolis.

The network includes more than 1,500 validators with integrated EMV contactless payment functionality installed in park and ride facilities, as well as in buses and the metro. Travelers can now use KorriGo transport cards, rechargeable tickets (contactless tickets) and contactless bank cards, as well as NFC-enabled devices, such as smartphones and smartwatches with Apple Pay and Samsung Pay wallets.

“When we launched this project, our objective was to expand the offer of securities media,” said Vincent Tournedouet, Project Director and Head of the Métro Investissements Service at Rennes Métropole. "Conduent's user-friendly technology helps simplify access to the STAR network for casual users."
To implement this project, Conduent was certified MPAT for Open Payment solutions by the Groupement des Cartes Bancaires CB, the French national interbank network.
